The Highway 95 By-Way project was completed in 2012. A shared use pathway that lies within the City's jurisdiction was included in the project. The pathway trail head named Sand Creek Park in 2012 is located at the old Lakeside Inn site and continues north along the East bank of Sand Creek to the northern city limit boundary and south under the "overpass" to a location where the landscape irrigation ends. Maintenance by the City began in 2013.
