This project will reconstruct Cedar Street (between Division Avenue and Lincoln Avenue), where the pavement has significantly deteriorated, and the road base is failing. Improvements on this portion of Cedar Street will include new road base and subbase, asphalt pavement, stormwater infrastructure, sidewalk, replacement of utilities, and the planting of street trees.
The project also includes upgraded stormwater infrastructure on Lincoln Avenue between Cedar Street and Pine Street, including new stormwater pipe and catch basins.
Construction is anticipated to begin mid June and be completed by November 2026.
What to expect during construction:
Working hours for the project will be from 7am to 7pm, Monday through Friday. Expect construction-related noise and equipment during these hours.
Please use caution when traveling near construction zones. Your cooperation in obeying posted signs and flaggers helps ensure the safety of work crews and the community.
Roadway, sidewalk and bike lane closures will include:
- Lincoln Avenue between Pine Street and Cedar Street will be closed to accommodate storm main installation. The intersection of Pine Street and Lincoln Avenue may experience temporary flagging, traffic restrictions, or delays during this work.
- Cedar Street between Division Avenue and Lincoln Avenue will be reconstructed in phases. Temporary roadway, sidewalk, and bike lane closures should be expected within the project area.
- Motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclists will be detoured as needed. Please follow posted detour routes, signs, and flagger directions.
- Local access to driveways will be maintained to the extent practicable. Driveways within the project limits along Cedar Street and Lincoln Ave will be closed for a short durations during demolition, temporary gravel driveway installation, and paving operations.
