For over two decades, I've dedicated myself to fostering growth and progress in both private and public spheres, particularly in small communities throughout the Intermountain West. During my tenure as the planning and community development director for the City of Sandpoint, spanning nearly ten years, I spearheaded pivotal initiatives like the 2009 Comprehensive Plan and a complete overhaul of the land use code. Currently, I proudly represent Region 1 and serve as the Vice Chairman of the Idaho Economic Advisory Council.
My commitment to community development extends beyond official roles, as evidenced by my involvement in various boards and taskforces, including the Sandpoint Urban Renewal Board, Panhandle Area Council, and Governor Butch Otter’s Workforce Development Taskforce.
Educationally, I hold a Bachelor's degree in Geomorphology from the University of Denver and a Master's degree in Community Planning & Development from the University of Southern Maine Muskie School of Public Service.
Home for me is Sandpoint, Idaho, where my wife Nichole, a Gonzaga graduate and Family Nurse Practitioner, and I have raised our two children since 2007.
As mayor, my foremost aim is to realign the city's focus with the needs of its residents and businesses. This entails crucial investments in infrastructure, such as the long-overdue replacement of the aging wastewater treatment plant, road reconstruction and maintenance, and enhancements to the water transmission system. Collaborating with the City Council, I'm committed to seeing these projects through for the betterment of Sandpoint now and into the future.
