The City of Sandpoint offers seasonal moorage at both the City Beach Marina and the Windbag Marina. Current rates are listed below. Those who reside inside Sandpoint City limits 6+ months of the year qualify for the City resident discounted rate. All those residing outside Sandpoint City limits will be charged the non-resident rate. Call Kami in the Parks and Rec Department for more information 208-263-3613 Tuesday - Friday.

Local Invasive Species Fee

The City assesses a Local Invasive Species Fee (LIS) in addition to seasonal moorage rates, per marina customer, per season. The LIS fee is $21. All money collected for (LIS) management will go toward non chemical removal of invasive species (milfoil and flowering rush) within city limits; primarily focusing on City Beach, Municipal Marina's, and Sand Creek. For more detailed information please contact the Cities representative for this project; Jared Yost: Aquatic Invasive Species Coordinator 208-265-1480.

Applicants in good standing, who currently lease a slip in any calendar year, wishing to renew their current slip or move to a slip of equal or lesser size, will have the first opportunity to renew the permit for that slip for the following season.

In January, returning customers will receive an email from Sandpoint Parks and Rec, prompting them to complete a Moorage Renewal Form to verify and update contact, and boat and insurance information on file for upcoming moorage season. Forms to verify and update customer information will need to be submitted by Feb 15th to allow staff time to review information provided. If boat or insuance information have changed, have insurance and boat registration documents handy while completing this form.

After review, customer will receive two emails prompting them to

1) complete an online seasonal moorage facility waiver within 14 days (same content as our contract from years past) and

2) make payment online via their REC1 account, mailing in a check, or walking in a payment by MARCH 1st. Once payment is made a permit will be issued by email and customer can occupy the slip as soon as depth permits through the end of the season, though no later than Oct 31st.

The City of Sandpoint manages two municipal marinas; the Windbag Marina and the City Beach Marina. The Windbag Marina is located on Dock St in Sandpoint. Slip lengths offered are: 20', 24', and 30's.  The City Beach Marina is located at the south end of the City Beach parking lot. Slip lengths offered are 20’s, 30’s and 35’s. Best slip accessibility is between July 1  and mid-September, due to raising and lower of Lake Pend Oreille. Deeper slips may have access as early as Memorial Day Weekend to Oct 31st. Slips available for the upcoming season will open for online reservation the 3rd Tuesday of March. The available slips will be posted under a Power Boat preference area or a Sailboat preference area. Visit the Facility Catalog

To moor with the City of Sandpoint the following is required:

1) Seasonal Moorage Application must be submitted. Application may be submitted at anytime. Link to Seasonal Moorage Application

2) All Applicants/Customers must maintain Liability Insurance for the length of the entire season to maintain account in good standing. Minimum coverage required is $300,000 Combined Single limit or the similar Split Limit of 100/300/100.

3) Current Boat Registration. *No boats registered under a business name.

4) Applicant/Customer must own the boat for which moorage is applied.

Once a seasonal moorage application is submitted, Parks and Rec staff will review your information and if approved, your REC1 account will be flagged, granting you permission to shop available slips in your preference area, starting the 3rd Tuesday of March thru March 31st. After the first Wednesday in April, any remaining slips will be available to approved applicants wishing to moor a power or sailboat.

You'll be notified by email when your account is ready. On or after the 3rd Tuesday of March, applicants may log into their REC1 account and using the REC1 facility catalog shop the slips. During the check out process you'll be asked to sign a facility waiver and pay the fees due.

TO PREPARE: Create a REC1 account if you have not already done so and have your boat registration and boat liability insurance for the next year ready in early March. To get started CLICK HERE.
