The City of Sandpoint Lifeguard program is operated by the Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Division.

The Sandpoint City Beach, is a United States Lifesaving Association (USLA) certified facility like many beaches in California and Hawaii. 

Lifeguards are on the stand 7 days a week starting the weekend after school is out, (June 9, 2018) through Labor Day (September 3, 2018).

SWAC the City of Sandpoint and the Long Bridge Swim are teaming up to help those interested in becoming a LIFEGUARD.…decide if you want to take the LIFEGUARDING class…offered:

April 17 through May 17, 2018

Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6pm-8pm

At Sandpoint West Athletic Club

Then take (and pass) the exam and earn your LIFEGUARDING certification.

Now you’re in position, depending on your performance, to apply for a LIFEGUARDING position with the City of Sandpoint Park and Rec or SWAC’s Summer Adventure Camp.

The Life-guarding class is just $50! The value for these offerings is over $400!

How do I get involved?    Fill out a City of Sandpoint Lifeguarding Applicaiton then sign up for the Lifeguarding Certification class at SWAC.
