Sanitation services are required for city residents for the safety and sanitation of the city. Garbage pickup is provided within the city limits by Waste Management under contract with the City of Sandpoint.
Garbage and recycling containers must be placed at the curb by 6:00 am on the scheduled pickup day. Regular refuse is picked up weekly, whereas recycling is picked up every other week. When you sign up for services thru the City, you will be given your residence's assigned pickup day.
When a holiday falls on a regular collection day, pickup will be made one day later than usual, with Friday pickups being made on Saturday. If the holiday falls on a Sunday, garbage will be picked up as usual. The only holidays observed for purposes of garbage collection are:
- New Years Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
