Sandpoint street crews will be installing new 4-way stop signs at the intersection of Pine and Division on Wednesday, September 25th. The new signs will be installed before 6:30 a.m. This is a temporary solution designed to improve safety for everyone at this intersection. It will provide a controlled intersection for students crossing Division to attend school and will slow down speeds of motorists in the area. Sandpoint Police will be providing extra patrols in the morning and throughout the week as everyone adjusts to the traffic controls. A full safety audit of the Division corridor is being conducted as part of the City's Multimodal Transportation Master Plan and will ultimately determine permanent safety improvements to be made.
